Already April

It's already April! Seems wild to me. March seemed gone in a blink of an eye while January seemed like it would never end. The years move by strangely, I've noticed. Some months fly by some years and go slower in others. It's weird how time can move differently from year to year.

This morning this fellow writer told me I write a lot. I don't know why, but it rubbed me the wrong way. I still don't know what she was playing at. She has only ever promoted her books. I write books of many different genres but I also submit to magazines and anthologies so, of course, it's going to look like I write more than you do. Also, I post pages from my already published books sometimes trying to get some more traction.

I told her all of this, and there's no response. Maybe she didn't mean anything by it, but it just seemed rude to me. Like when people used to tell me I was too intense or I was too much. You can think I write too much, if that makes you feel better. But I'm always writing or thinking about writing. I'm a person who craves a lot of alone time who doesn't currently have a partner or kids so I have more time to write. Like I'm sorry you don't have enough time to write as much as you want to but why are you making it my problem? I think people either need to remember the golden rule of treating people how you want to be treated or just keep their inside thoughts inside. There's no reason to be snide or rude or try to undermine your fellow writers. Some people write a lot, some people write less, and some people can't write as much as they would like to. But I think every writer's journey is valid (so long as they're not using Ai). I don't think we need to nitpick and judge one another for everything. The world can be cruel and exhausting enough on it's own.

Just remember to be kind. All I want to do is make a career out of my writing, and I write a lot. If that's a reason that you hate me, that's just sad and maybe you should re-evaluate yourself.
