vampire & faerie

In my faerie/vampire lore - vampires are really attracted to faerie blood and have to try very hard not to harm them when they fall in love with them which is the significance of this quote should anyone be wondering. In all my books and short stories I include this lore, but not all of you may be familiar with my work so I wanted to clarify.

Another Exerpt

I honestly love that my editor is as excited as I am for this book. I hope you all will enjoy the excerpts (and the book - once it's out)!

Hello, friends!

Well, for September my publisher wanted me to start sharing some excerpts from my upcoming poetry collection fairy tale love. He made some cute graphics, and since today is September first it is time to start.

Poem on a podcast

A few years ago my poem "actions have consequences" was a part of a podcast on my favorite Disney villain Maleficent. You can listen to the podcast here.

Sailor Moon, Nostalgia, Feels

Listening to soundtracks from Sailor Moon and getting into my feels tonight:Sailor Moon soundtrack. Just made me think of one of my old, dear friends. One I used to have a sisterhood with. She was my Sailor Mercury and I was her Sailor Mars.

She's the one that inspired my book not your piñata. It truly felt like a friendship break-up at the time. I don't know. Maybe we can mend things between us yet. I'm just in an aching, nostalgic place right now. I hate when people choose to leave but you can't make them stay just like you can't make them love you or care.

It's hard to leave behind living ghosts. Sometimes you're given no choice. But who knows what tomorrow brings? I have to hope for better days for me, for the universe, for everyone.

kinder tides

I can't believe how quickly time flies anymore. It feels so surreal.

My poem kinder tides came out on Friday. One of my poet friends really loves it, and that makes my heart happy. It's always good to know that you're appreciated. I always try to give people their flowers. I feel like people deserve to get them when they're still alive.

Life is too short so I try to put as much love and light into it as I can. I'm following my dreams (writing and otherwise) as best as I can, and I hope you do the same!

Release Party!

On Friday May 23rd, there will be a release party for the anthology I'm part of. There's two Onwards Adventures Anthologies one for realistic tales and the one I'm a part of: fantastic tales. The release party will be 9 pm Eastern time for anyone who would like to attend: Live Release Party! I won't be able to attend because I accidentally forgot to schedule it off in time, oops!

However, I will be taking over in the Fae Corps Book Club on Facebook for the hour of noon on Friday if you would like to connect then. I will be advertising some of my books, posting some excerpts and poems from Onwards Adventures, and there will even be a couple of games! The group is public and already has around 300 members if you'd like to look around and/or join us!

Life has been a bit difficult lately so I'm really looking forward to Friday! We all have to have something to look forward to, right?

letters to an old friend

My book letters to an old friend is out! It is a collection of poetry written as poems. It is sapphic, yearning, and about unrequited love and a friendship break-up which really wounded me. So if that sounds like something that you'd be interested in, I'd appreciate you picking up a copy!

I'm still not sure what to do about my book fairy tale love, but I am hoping I can find a solution to where it can still be published because it really is one of my happier books; and I would like to have something out in the world that isn't all about the darkness I've faced but rather about the hope and the light I would hope to receive in the future. We shall see!

A Long Needed Update

Sorry, I'm terribly quite terrible at keeping a blog and keeping it up to date. But I do try.

Haha! Anyway, my book fairy tale love will hopefully be out soon. I've gotten the names and emails of some people who are willing to be arc readers, and my editor reached out to tell me that there will be fundraising to get this project up and running. I am excited! I have wanted to share this book for quite some time.

It is a collection sapphic poetry about me imagining what it would be like to have a wife. Of having that fairy tale love that I've always dreamed of since I was a kid. While most of my poetry is autobiographical, I decided to just go with it. I wanted there to be an example of healthy, happy queer love out in the universe when there's still this trend to "kill your queer characters" off in media.

The book is sappy, romantic, and dreamy. Flows like water or honey, maybe even both. I'm really excited about when it might be published. I'm not too sure on when it will be released, but my publisher and I talked about it and there will be three different versions at different price points: a color version with artwork, a black and white version with artwork, and a version that is just the poetry itself. I'm not sure what the price points will be yet but I will keep you up to date as more information becomes available! I'm just really excited for this.

An Apology & A Book Release

I apologize, it's been a while. Too long, I know. I have simply been busy and it has been a bit chaotic with my schedule at work changing on a consistent basis rather than me maintaining my usual schedule. So I apologize.

In other news, though, if you have not seen or heard my haiku collection in these ancient veins is now available. You can grab a copy at the following link. It came out earlier this month, and I should've done a blog post about it sooner, I'm sorry! But I am here now.

This collection is sapphic, yearning, and fantasy. So if any of those things are your jam then you should definitely check it out. Hopefully, I can get in the habit of posting content here on a more regular basis. Until next time, friends!

An Update

Hey, everyone! Just Linda checking in with an update. My short story collection King Quinlin was supposed to be out March 3rd. It got delayed because it had a subheading of another project of mine that I was working on by mistake. Thankfully, my publisher was really cool about it, and got it fixed straight away. My collection will now be coming out March 6th so keep your eyes out for it! I will be crossposting on all of my social media about it.

For those of you who may not know King Quinlin is a short story collection set after the events that occur in my novella The Queen's Son. I am excited for you all to see these characters expanded upon and see some more worldbuilding with these lovelies! Until next time, friends.

Just A Little Bit of Everything

If you haven't already read my novella The Queen's Son, you can get a little preview of it if you grab a copy of the March 2024 edition of The Alien Buddha Zine: here.

This is the book that comes directly before my short story collection King Quinlin which is due out March 3rd. I'm super excited to get my first short story collection out into the world. I have another one that I am searching for a home for, and I am hoping it finds one soon. We'll see!

Still hoping to find some book bloggers for my upcoming poetry collection fairy tale love. I'm not sure if blogging about poetry books is common or not, but I remember with one of my former publishers she had created a book tour for one of my novels. I would think it would be the same concept, but I don't know. I will keep trying to find anyone who might be interested in blogging about this.

Have a good day, friends! Always remember that you are worthy no matter what anyone tells you, and life is too short to follow anything less than your dreams. Until next time!

Excited & Still Looking For Book Bloggers

I'm so excited to have three poems out in this anthology, but I am especially excited "oceans of time" finally found a home. I was hoping this Dracula adjacent and Dracula inspired piece would find a home.

I'm really hoping I can find some book bloggers that will take on my upcoming poetry collection fairy tale love. A few people have retweeted my request on Twitter, but I have absolutely no one tell me that they're interested so I am a little worried. Hopefully, I can find the right people somehow.
