My book fairy tale love will be out on my favorite holiday: October 31st! I am so excited to bring forth this sapphic, sappy, dreamy collection of poems to you all. It is one of my happier, brighter works which differs from some of my other darker poety collections. I wanted to ry my hand at something different than what I'm accustomed to and came up with this book which I love dearly. I hope you all will love it, too.
My editor made me some images to share in September and it's so hard for me not to share them now. They have quotes from my upcoming collection paired with some beautiful artwork!

Birthday Present From the Universe
So remember how I was confused as to what I should do with fairy tale love? Well, my editor said that he's got all of his ducks in a row and he will be able to publish this book, after all! I was so relieved because I wasn't sure what to do. I really wanted to publish that book, but I wasn't sure what to do.
Because they had done a lot of work on that project and included their own artwork for the pages. It just seemed wrong to go to someone completely different and start anew. Not just because I would miss out on the artwork, but it just felt wrong to me. So in the end, I am glad things worked themselves out.
Not sure when this book will be out, but it is coming! I'm so excited for it.

Book Out Over the Weekend!
I didn't have much time to post about my new book this weekend because I was spending time with my family. Saturday was my cousin Taylor's birdal shower. I ended up drinking a lot of water. It was super hot and I didn't want to get sick but the heat almost got the better of me, I think. I will be happy when this heat wave is over. All of my fans are on and I'm still sweating buckets.
Anyway, my poetry collection not your piñata is alive! If you're one of those people who believe that friendship break-ups can be worse than romantic ones, then this is the book for you! This is about a twenty year friendship that I thought would last forever, but now I'm not so sure. I didn't know it could only take three paragraphs and no salutations on a letter to break my heart, but it did.
I hope that you can find solace that if you're in this situation that you're not alone. I hope that my words can help you understand that not everyone thinks it's okay to not hold themselves or others accountable. It is so easy to walk away from someone. I want and need the people in my life that want to stay no matter what.

Onwards Adventures in Print
You're probably tired of hearing me talk about this anthology, but Onwards Adventures is now able to be purchased in print as well as received in digital formats. You can grab a paperback copy here: Onwards Adventures Fantastic Tales Print Edition.
June 21st is the launch date for my next book not your piñata. It is a collection of poetry about my anger and pain that instead of holding herself accountable, an old friend of mine wants to start with a blank slate after twenty years of friendship. I find that idea quite humiliating and a betrayal of the sisterhood we once shared, and I examine these feelings in my new collection.

Release Party, Book Release, & Some Other Shenanigans
If you weren't able to attend the release party on Friday May 23rd for Onwards Adventures, you can give it a listen at this link. I wasn't able to be there because I was at work, but it was fun to take over the Fae Corps Book Club Group for an hour. I got to have some lovely chats with some of the members of the group, and it was nice to get some enthusiasm and excitement for my other projects in addition to Onwards Adventures.
In other news, my poetry collection not your piñata is scheduled to be released in June. It's a very vulnerable, raw, honest look at how hurtful/painful lack of accountability can be and the dissolving of a friendship that I thought would last forever.
Also today I have 5 brand new poems out. My poems "let us taste the magic", "the rich are parasites", "we want to live", "proclaiming your hate", and "as if you won't be judged" are out today in the 34th issue of 100 Subtexts Magazine: here.

letters to an old friend
My book letters to an old friend is out! It is a collection of poetry written as poems. It is sapphic, yearning, and about unrequited love and a friendship break-up which really wounded me. So if that sounds like something that you'd be interested in, I'd appreciate you picking up a copy!
I'm still not sure what to do about my book fairy tale love, but I am hoping I can find a solution to where it can still be published because it really is one of my happier books; and I would like to have something out in the world that isn't all about the darkness I've faced but rather about the hope and the light I would hope to receive in the future. We shall see!

Sad News
I'm not sure what is going to happen with my book fairy tale love. I was so excited to see what the publisher was coming up with for the three different editions, but he messaged me a few months ago to say that he was no longer publishing my book. He said he would continue to help me, though, and I could self-publish it.
I was really crushed by that news. I still am, if I am honest. I'm not sure what's going to happen with that book, but I really enjoy that it is one of my brighter, happier poetry collections. A lot of my poetry touches on my trauma and dark things/situations/incidents that have happened in my life so I created this one to put some of my love/joy/laughter into the world, as well.
I will hopefully find a new home for it if this publisher drops it all together because I honestly don't know what else to do, at that point. It is also sad because they were going to publish another book of mine, but obviously that's not going to happen. I guess that's what happens when you get your hopes up, but sometimes even with low or no expectations people still let me down. I guess it's a part of life, sometimes.

Onwards Adventures
I don't usually post anthologies that I'm in, but I think I might start doing that sometimes provided I remember to just so I can give you guys some more content! It may encourage me to post more. Maybe. I'm not sure. Ha ha, I know my posting is a bit sporadic, but I really do try. Work/life/writing/social balance can be tricky to get just right but I do make an effort.
Writing is my passion and my delight, and I do hope that my writing reaches my audience one day if it has not done so already.
My poems “in the name of villainy”, “i will punish them”, “i have no regrets”, “if nothing matters”, “you betrayed me”, and “i don’t want to die” are a part of Onwards Adventure Fantastic Tales:you can grab a copy here! This collection means a lot to me because it was inspired by roleplaying and DND - both of which I love although I've never been part of a DND campaign yet. Roleplaying on the other hand...I've done forum based roleplaying since I was thirteen years old. I dedicated these poems to the people I've roleplayed with over the years. Because I appreciate them being part of my story.
Even the ones who betrayed me in some way and did me dirty taught me lessons even if it's just not who to become. Karma will get them, I'm sure, but they may be characters I kill off in my books, too. Ha ha! What can I say? I hold grudges. I got a good heart, but I don't like being taken advantage of. I'm not the people pleasing little pushover they may have once known.
I hope you enjoy the collection, and I appreciate your interest in me and my writing/art! Have yourselves a good rest of your day!

letters to an old friend
Sorry for the mopey last post. I just wanted to be honest. I sometimes feel like I am a failure in comparison to my other writer friends. I know comparison is a thief of joy, and I should just focus on my own work; but sometimes I can't help but notice. It makes me wonder if there's something wrong with me. But maybe my supporters are just more silent. If you're one of my silent supporters, could you please make some noise? It would be nice to know I'm appreciated.
In other news, I have a new book coming out soon. It's titled letters to an old friend, and it's a book of epistolary poems (poems written in the form of letters for anyone who may not know). I like to challenge myself, and I thought it would be a fun way of writing poetry in a way that's different from most of the other poems I've written.
What makes this a wee bit awkward is the person I wrote this to recently added me on Facebook after we haven't spoken in years. I'm going to let them make the first move, though, because I feel like that's what makes the most sense. After all they added me and not the other way around. So far they haven't said anything to me so I'm in this strange sort of limbo of are we actually friends again in the traditional sense or was it just an add for nostalgia's sake. I guess time will tell.

New Book Dropped!
My new collection faerie witch queen is out! It came out yesterday.
It's a poetry collection centered around self-empowerment and women empowerment, in general. It is a collection based off of Maleficent (my favorite Disney villain - although she's more an anti-hero in the live-action films [which I also love]). So if you love Sleeping Beauty, but could never relate to being a princess this collection is for you because I was a little girl that felt that way, too.
I thought by being someone different that people could love me, but all I could ever be was me. I am no longer ashamed of that, and neither should you be. The world is a vast, beautiful place full of diversity. It would be boring if we were all the same.

New Year, New Book!
Hello, friends! I'm sorry it's been so long. I'm really bad at updating this blog, but I do try. I really do. Life is just hectic with writing and work. With any luck I wil be publishing a new book soon called mantle lake,. It is a hybrid collection of photography and poetry about my favorite place to visit when I was living in Maine.
If you've made resolutions for this coming year, I hope that it goes well for you! I don't do new years resolutions. I just try to improve myself as much as I am able when I'm able. I find that new years resolutions put a lot of pressure on me for no good reason, so for my own sake I just don't do them any longer. It's better for me because it doesn't make my anxiety loud.
Hopefully, I will have more book news for you soon. In the meantime I will keep updating Facebook about individual poems, short stories, personal essays, etc.

A Long Needed Update
Sorry, I'm terribly quite terrible at keeping a blog and keeping it up to date. But I do try.
Haha! Anyway, my book fairy tale love will hopefully be out soon. I've gotten the names and emails of some people who are willing to be arc readers, and my editor reached out to tell me that there will be fundraising to get this project up and running. I am excited! I have wanted to share this book for quite some time.
It is a collection sapphic poetry about me imagining what it would be like to have a wife. Of having that fairy tale love that I've always dreamed of since I was a kid. While most of my poetry is autobiographical, I decided to just go with it. I wanted there to be an example of healthy, happy queer love out in the universe when there's still this trend to "kill your queer characters" off in media.
The book is sappy, romantic, and dreamy. Flows like water or honey, maybe even both. I'm really excited about when it might be published. I'm not too sure on when it will be released, but my publisher and I talked about it and there will be three different versions at different price points: a color version with artwork, a black and white version with artwork, and a version that is just the poetry itself. I'm not sure what the price points will be yet but I will keep you up to date as more information becomes available! I'm just really excited for this.

An Apology & A Book Release
I apologize, it's been a while. Too long, I know. I have simply been busy and it has been a bit chaotic with my schedule at work changing on a consistent basis rather than me maintaining my usual schedule. So I apologize.
In other news, though, if you have not seen or heard my haiku collection in these ancient veins is now available. You can grab a copy at the following link. It came out earlier this month, and I should've done a blog post about it sooner, I'm sorry! But I am here now.
This collection is sapphic, yearning, and fantasy. So if any of those things are your jam then you should definitely check it out. Hopefully, I can get in the habit of posting content here on a more regular basis. Until next time, friends!

An Update
Hey, everyone! Just Linda checking in with an update. My short story collection King Quinlin was supposed to be out March 3rd. It got delayed because it had a subheading of another project of mine that I was working on by mistake. Thankfully, my publisher was really cool about it, and got it fixed straight away. My collection will now be coming out March 6th so keep your eyes out for it! I will be crossposting on all of my social media about it.
For those of you who may not know King Quinlin is a short story collection set after the events that occur in my novella The Queen's Son. I am excited for you all to see these characters expanded upon and see some more worldbuilding with these lovelies! Until next time, friends.

Just A Little Bit of Everything
If you haven't already read my novella The Queen's Son, you can get a little preview of it if you grab a copy of the March 2024 edition of The Alien Buddha Zine: here.
This is the book that comes directly before my short story collection King Quinlin which is due out March 3rd. I'm super excited to get my first short story collection out into the world. I have another one that I am searching for a home for, and I am hoping it finds one soon. We'll see!
Still hoping to find some book bloggers for my upcoming poetry collection fairy tale love. I'm not sure if blogging about poetry books is common or not, but I remember with one of my former publishers she had created a book tour for one of my novels. I would think it would be the same concept, but I don't know. I will keep trying to find anyone who might be interested in blogging about this.
Have a good day, friends! Always remember that you are worthy no matter what anyone tells you, and life is too short to follow anything less than your dreams. Until next time!

I haven't kept a blog for many years so it's probably going to take me a minute to get back into the swing of things. I'm going to use this blog for when I have writing announcements. Probably not every individual poem I get out into the world, but mainly for books and such.

My short story collection King Quinlin is coming out March 3rd! I'm really excited about that. Claire L. I'm working on a lot of projects at once, so we'll see if I get back to Quinlin someday. Maybe I will. Maybe I won't. Only time will tell!
