vampire & faerie

In my faerie/vampire lore - vampires are really attracted to faerie blood and have to try very hard not to harm them when they fall in love with them which is the significance of this quote should anyone be wondering. In all my books and short stories I include this lore, but not all of you may be familiar with my work so I wanted to clarify.

Another Exerpt

I honestly love that my editor is as excited as I am for this book. I hope you all will enjoy the excerpts (and the book - once it's out)!

Hello, friends!

Well, for September my publisher wanted me to start sharing some excerpts from my upcoming poetry collection fairy tale love. He made some cute graphics, and since today is September first it is time to start.

Some Super Exciting News

My book fairy tale love will be out on my favorite holiday: October 31st! I am so excited to bring forth this sapphic, sappy, dreamy collection of poems to you all. It is one of my happier, brighter works which differs from some of my other darker poety collections. I wanted to ry my hand at something different than what I'm accustomed to and came up with this book which I love dearly. I hope you all will love it, too.

My editor made me some images to share in September and it's so hard for me not to share them now. They have quotes from my upcoming collection paired with some beautiful artwork!

Birthday Present From the Universe

So remember how I was confused as to what I should do with fairy tale love? Well, my editor said that he's got all of his ducks in a row and he will be able to publish this book, after all! I was so relieved because I wasn't sure what to do. I really wanted to publish that book, but I wasn't sure what to do.

Because they had done a lot of work on that project and included their own artwork for the pages. It just seemed wrong to go to someone completely different and start anew. Not just because I would miss out on the artwork, but it just felt wrong to me. So in the end, I am glad things worked themselves out.

Not sure when this book will be out, but it is coming! I'm so excited for it.

Onwards Adventures in Print

You're probably tired of hearing me talk about this anthology, but Onwards Adventures is now able to be purchased in print as well as received in digital formats. You can grab a paperback copy here: Onwards Adventures Fantastic Tales Print Edition.

June 21st is the launch date for my next book not your piƱata. It is a collection of poetry about my anger and pain that instead of holding herself accountable, an old friend of mine wants to start with a blank slate after twenty years of friendship. I find that idea quite humiliating and a betrayal of the sisterhood we once shared, and I examine these feelings in my new collection.

Release Party, Book Release, & Some Other Shenanigans

If you weren't able to attend the release party on Friday May 23rd for Onwards Adventures, you can give it a listen at this link. I wasn't able to be there because I was at work, but it was fun to take over the Fae Corps Book Club Group for an hour. I got to have some lovely chats with some of the members of the group, and it was nice to get some enthusiasm and excitement for my other projects in addition to Onwards Adventures.

In other news, my poetry collection not your piƱata is scheduled to be released in June. It's a very vulnerable, raw, honest look at how hurtful/painful lack of accountability can be and the dissolving of a friendship that I thought would last forever.

Also today I have 5 brand new poems out. My poems "let us taste the magic", "the rich are parasites", "we want to live", "proclaiming your hate", and "as if you won't be judged" are out today in the 34th issue of 100 Subtexts Magazine: here.

letters to an old friend

Sorry for the mopey last post. I just wanted to be honest. I sometimes feel like I am a failure in comparison to my other writer friends. I know comparison is a thief of joy, and I should just focus on my own work; but sometimes I can't help but notice. It makes me wonder if there's something wrong with me. But maybe my supporters are just more silent. If you're one of my silent supporters, could you please make some noise? It would be nice to know I'm appreciated.

In other news, I have a new book coming out soon. It's titled letters to an old friend, and it's a book of epistolary poems (poems written in the form of letters for anyone who may not know). I like to challenge myself, and I thought it would be a fun way of writing poetry in a way that's different from most of the other poems I've written.

What makes this a wee bit awkward is the person I wrote this to recently added me on Facebook after we haven't spoken in years. I'm going to let them make the first move, though, because I feel like that's what makes the most sense. After all they added me and not the other way around. So far they haven't said anything to me so I'm in this strange sort of limbo of are we actually friends again in the traditional sense or was it just an add for nostalgia's sake. I guess time will tell.

A Long Needed Update

Sorry, I'm terribly quite terrible at keeping a blog and keeping it up to date. But I do try.

Haha! Anyway, my book fairy tale love will hopefully be out soon. I've gotten the names and emails of some people who are willing to be arc readers, and my editor reached out to tell me that there will be fundraising to get this project up and running. I am excited! I have wanted to share this book for quite some time.

It is a collection sapphic poetry about me imagining what it would be like to have a wife. Of having that fairy tale love that I've always dreamed of since I was a kid. While most of my poetry is autobiographical, I decided to just go with it. I wanted there to be an example of healthy, happy queer love out in the universe when there's still this trend to "kill your queer characters" off in media.

The book is sappy, romantic, and dreamy. Flows like water or honey, maybe even both. I'm really excited about when it might be published. I'm not too sure on when it will be released, but my publisher and I talked about it and there will be three different versions at different price points: a color version with artwork, a black and white version with artwork, and a version that is just the poetry itself. I'm not sure what the price points will be yet but I will keep you up to date as more information becomes available! I'm just really excited for this.

Just A Little Bit of Everything

If you haven't already read my novella The Queen's Son, you can get a little preview of it if you grab a copy of the March 2024 edition of The Alien Buddha Zine: here.

This is the book that comes directly before my short story collection King Quinlin which is due out March 3rd. I'm super excited to get my first short story collection out into the world. I have another one that I am searching for a home for, and I am hoping it finds one soon. We'll see!

Still hoping to find some book bloggers for my upcoming poetry collection fairy tale love. I'm not sure if blogging about poetry books is common or not, but I remember with one of my former publishers she had created a book tour for one of my novels. I would think it would be the same concept, but I don't know. I will keep trying to find anyone who might be interested in blogging about this.

Have a good day, friends! Always remember that you are worthy no matter what anyone tells you, and life is too short to follow anything less than your dreams. Until next time!

Excited & Still Looking For Book Bloggers

I'm so excited to have three poems out in this anthology, but I am especially excited "oceans of time" finally found a home. I was hoping this Dracula adjacent and Dracula inspired piece would find a home.

I'm really hoping I can find some book bloggers that will take on my upcoming poetry collection fairy tale love. A few people have retweeted my request on Twitter, but I have absolutely no one tell me that they're interested so I am a little worried. Hopefully, I can find the right people somehow.
